A rag-tag group of former TV stars and comic book artists, who make their living working at conventions, decide to steal the loot from a crooked promoter and an overbearing former TV icon.

The story opens with the graduation of F4 from Ying De University and subsequently focuses on their life after graduation. It follows the blossoming love story of Shan Cai (Barbie) and Dao Ming Si (Jerry). The story takes the group to Barcelona, Spain where Dao Ming Si meets an accident and suffers memory loss. He then meets another girl, Ye Sha (Michelle Saram), and falls in love with her. Shan Cai on the other hand tries her best to help Dao Ming Si regain his memory. A swimming accident helps Dao Ming Si regain his memory and returns to his first love Shan Cai.

Shan Cai, whose parents are far from wealthy, attends Ying De University, the private school established exclusively for rich students. Besides being looked down by rich classmates, she has angered the leader of F4, Dao Ming Si. F4 comprises of Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men, and Mei Zuo, who are the heirs to the four richest families. Their families are the founder of the school and nobody dares to cross them. Shan Cai isn’t afraid to stand up to DMS, an act that nobody has done before, and sparks Dao Ming Si’s interest in her. However, his constant torture of her has made her miserable while she falls in love with the gentle Hua Ze Lei, who comes to her rescue. Can Dao Ming Si win her love despite his cold and cruel exterior? What happens when his mother decides to use every trick there is to keep them apart? Can they adjust to each other’s differences due to their vastly incompatible social status?

Devil’s Advocate thematically raises the preposition that ‘is winning everything’ in the legal profession. Does a lawyer commits the basic sin of Vanity if he believes his job is to win, as Kevin does. Further the movie in John Milton’s trenchant speech questions the very notion of righteousness in the post-modern world. Milton’s speech rips apart the whole discourse of religion when he presents the inherent contradiction of it. Kevin’s dilemma reflects the modern man who accuses the circumstances for being what he is,the culture dominated by making money ‘which build egos of the size of cathedral’, the question is can one really call what one does ‘freely-willed’?. The movie deals with these ‘Hamltian questions’ in a lawyer’s mind.
