The Bootleg Series Vol. 12: The Cutting Edge 1965–1966 was released on Legacy Records in November 2015. Comprising recordings from 1965 and 1966 of mostly unreleased demos and outtakes from recording sessions for the albums Bringing It All Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde. Presumably, this set was called “The Cutting Edge” because it represents the period when Dylan was perceived as the “newfangled wunderkind on the cutting edge” who was contributing “free verse association” to the lyrics of a new era.
