The screener tries to identify the writer in order to pay him off so he’ll be left alone, and then in a case of mistaken identity gone awry, he accidentally gives the writer solid ammunition for blackmail. This plot is written on a backdrop of sleazy Hollywood deals and several subplots involving the politics of the industry.

Based on a more realistic portrayal of “Arthur” than has ever been presented onscreen. The film will focus on the history and politics of the period during which Arthur ruled — when the Roman empire collapsed and skirmishes over power broke out in outlying countries — as opposed to the mystical elements of the tale on which past Arthur films have focused. This is a brave venture by Jerry Bruckheimer and director Fuqua – and they are to be commended for executing it with such style and creativity as is displayed in this film.
