In Vigil, the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on-board a Trident nuclear submarine bring the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services. DCI Amy Silva leads an investigation on land and at sea into a conspiracy that threatens the very heart of Britain’s nuclear deterrent.

Season 3, Episode 01
After the murder of a British citizen in the Arctic, DCI Amy Silva and DI Kirsten Longacre investigate. As Amy looks into a possible conspiracy on Scottish soil, Kirsten comes up against uncooperative Russian inhabitants, who are claiming foul play and obstructing her at every turn. But then they discover a missing person who could set a match to this political tinderbox.

Season 3, Episode 02
After the kidnap of a government minister, Amy starts connecting the dots between his policy and his abduction as she zeroes in on the kidnapper. Kirsten navigates international agendas in the Arctic in the hunt for a missing Chinese scientist. Faced with an opportunity that could help her solve the case, Kirsten must risk consequences she may not be able to come back from.

Season 3, Episode 03
Amy needs to help Kirsten after the death of someone on the hub. She is faced with a ticking clock to clear Kirsten’s name before she is made into a scapegoat.

Season 3, Episode 04
Henrik and Kirsten close in on the missing Jia, with Amy not far behind. But as tensions rise and new allegiances are formed, the danger of the Arctic wilderness becomes apparent.

Season 3, Episode 05
The truth of Jia’s discovery has dangerous consequences for the team, who have to band together to go on a rescue mission that could spell disaster. As enemies both old and new draw nearer in pursuit of the real prize, loyalties are tested and shocking revelations made. Will Amy and Kirsten unmask the real foe? Or will everything hurtle out of their control?

Season 3, Episode 06
Amy and Kirsten return to Scotland, only for danger to follow them there. Amy finds herself on the wrong side of the law, and Kirsten puts herself in danger to keep Amy safe and to get to the truth while under immense political pressure and personal jeopardy. Eventually, they will both be faced with the hardest choice of their careers. Will they do the right thing?
