When an upper middle class woman discovers she is adopted, she is shocked to find out she comes from a drag racing family in the outer suburbs. Over two hilarious series, wealthy doctor Bess Denyar must deal with her adoption shock while trying to bridge the gap between her two very different tribes.

On one side is her middle class family consisting of controlling mother Margaret (Robin Nevin), her architect husband Danny (Patrick Brammall) and privately educated twins Oscar and Edwina. On the other is her biological and very bogan family the Wheelers–loving parents Wayne (Glenn Robbins) and Julie (Robyn Malcolm) and siblings Amber (Michala Banas), Brianna (Madeleine Jevic) and Kayne (Rhys Mitchell).
